COURSE DESCRIPTION:

A critical examination of the various ethical theories and their application to concrete practical issues in today’s business environment. Emphasis is placed upon the recognition of assumptions and the practice and application of a biblical world and life view in the marketplace.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

The student should be able to:

Comprehend and be able to describe the different business ethics perspectives that have been taken, and the arguments supporting them, in the field of business ethics, understand how and why the practice of business is subject to a Biblical worldview and how to formulate a rationally defensible personal ethical decision-making system for responding to ethical issues in business.

 

The student should be able to:

Develop a facility for articulating her thoughts about ethical issues in business as well as for formulating arguments that are rationally coherent, consistent, and persuasive. Develop critical assessment skills concerning the strengths and weaknesses of the various ethical perspectives, especially as these perspectives are applied to the business environment. Above all, to strengthen the students commitment to Biblical Christianity in its theory and practice and finally to seek to move the students to obedient worship and service of the God who redeemed him/her.
